Information We Collect
Reverse Singing is designed to minimize data collection. The information involved falls into these categories:
- Audio recordings — voice clips you record using the microphone Local
- Session history — timestamps, durations, and labels for your recorded and reversed takes Local
- Transcribed text — generated only when you use the Transcribe feature On-Device
- Usage data — non-identifying analytics such as session counts and feature usage, used to keep the app working smoothly
- Advertising identifiers — anonymous device identifiers used by our advertising partner
We do not require an account, login, name, email address, or phone number to use the app.

Audio Processing & Storage
All recording, reversing, and playback happens directly on your device using Apple's audio frameworks. Your voice clips are never uploaded to our servers, never sent to a cloud AI service, and are not accessible to us. Recordings remain in the app's local storage on your device until you delete them individually or use "Clear all" in Session History.
Transcribe Feature & Speech Recognition
The Transcribe tool uses iOS's built-in Speech Recognition framework to convert your recorded voice into text. Depending on device settings, this processing may occur on-device or, for some languages, via Apple's secure speech servers — this is governed by Apple's own privacy practices, not ours. We do not store, read, or transmit your transcripts to any third party. Transcribed text is saved locally on your device only.
Microphone Access
Reverse Singing requests microphone access solely to let you record audio for the reverse singing challenge and the Transcribe feature. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device Settings, though core recording functionality will not work without it.
Advertising
Reverse Singing displays advertising through Google AdMob to support free access to the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers, general location (such as country or region), and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. You can limit ad personalization through your device's privacy settings (e.g. "Limit Ad Tracking" / "Allow Apps to Request to Track" on iOS).
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob — advertising delivery and measurement
- Apple Speech Recognition — powers the optional Transcribe feature
We do not sell, rent, or share your audio recordings or transcripts with any third party for marketing purposes.
Data Retention
Recordings and session history remain on your device until you delete them. Deleting the app removes all locally stored recordings and history permanently. We do not retain copies of your audio on any server, as none exists for this purpose.
Data Security
Because your recordings stay on your device, their security depends largely on your device's own protections (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, encryption). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a passcode or biometric lock.
Children's Privacy
Reverse Singing is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and provided personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights including access, correction, deletion, and portability of your personal data. Because most data in this app is stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by deleting recordings within the app or uninstalling it. For questions about advertising data, contact us using the details below.
Your Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at the email below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Compliance
This Privacy Policy is designed to align with:
- Apple App Store Review Guidelines
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
- Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
